A live estimate built from AC Transit’s APC feed
AC Transit publishes a recommended capacity, a fresh APC timestamp, and one of three crowding bands for each active vehicle. The feed currently leaves its direct passenger-count and occupancy-percentage fields empty, so this page models the bands as 35% of capacity for Not Crowded, 75% for Some Crowding, and 100% for Crowded.
If AC Transit begins returning direct counts, those values automatically take priority. Vehicles with APC data older than five minutes are excluded from the headline estimate. The raw source fields are retained for long-term analysis, so the model can be revised without losing the underlying observations.
